Has visited the Group today by the request of the First Minister
and
David Sissling (Chief Executive of NHS Wales)

In his capacity as lead official within the Welsh Government
with responsibility for veterans healthcare issues
The First Minister has asked to be kept informed of discussions

will be attending the Rhondda Veterans Support Group today.

We hope to discuss recent disturbing  events.
We will raise our concerns as to the
welfare of Veterans Mental Health

The Rhondda Veterans Support Group attended
Armed Forces Day in Cardiff. It was a good day for the group.

We met up with many old friends.

Especially Falkland’s Veterans at the Rededication Ceremony
A very good day was had by all

Today we had a visit from Rabbi Michoel Rose
of the Cardiff United Synagogue

He offered the support of the Jewish Community.


We at Rhondda Veterans Suport Group have the well being of Veterans
foremost in our hearts
regardless of religous or political beliefs.

by BBC Radio Wales to particapate in the programme
Eye On Wales. the focus of this episode will be PTSD

attended the Rhondda Veterans Support Group
A.M. Andrew R.T. Davies, Leader of the Conservative Party Wales.
also attended.
It was a very interesting and fruitful day.
The concerns of Veterans were put to the two Leaders who listened intentively.

Healing the Wounds forges partnerships with many
Veteran Services, and is proud to have created a strong link
with Rhonnda Veterans Support Group.

Healing the Wounds recognises the need to offer support not only to
Veterans of the Armed Forces, but also the Emergency
Services; Police, Fire and Ambulance.

The Rhondda Veterans Support Group
has been invited to a meeting in Cardiff.
To represent and be the voice.
Of Veterans from the Rhondda.
We will be discussing the needs of Veterans
in regards to Health Issues, sustained
from combat such as PTSD.
Also the need for further support from the DWP.
This will take place on the 22nd of March.
So unfortunately there, will be no group
at the Sky Blue Cafe Bar on that Thursday.

We apologise to any Veteran wishing to attend on that day.

Well today was a fruitful day for the Rhondda
Veterans Support Group
We made new connections with other groups and organisations
From Cardiff and the Vale and surrounding areas

Also with a Member of Parliament/MOD
Rt Hon Madeleine Moon MP

In regards to the issues with the Mental Health and DWP

The informant we gathered will be discussed in
the next Group Meeting on the 29thMarch 2012

Once we obtain further information on these subjects.
